Kara Goldin, Founder and CEO of Hint reveals what drove her to launch her company, write the bestseller, Undaunted:  Overcoming Doubts and Doubters and the power of asking questions.

Here are my top three takeaways from our conversation:

Reach out. Kara emphasizes the benefits of inviting someone you want to meet, or learn from, to have coffee. It expands your network and knowledge of different industries and trends. Make the first move – you’ve got nothing to lose. Who will you reach out to this week to expand your network and perspective?

Ideas can spring from anywhere.  Kara had no beverage industry experience but leveraged her outsider perspective to her advantage. Often, it’s easier to disrupt and innovate an industry when you have no preconceptions about how things are done or obligations to external markets and shareholders. How can you leverage your unique experiences to position you for success?

Tweak as you go.  Don’t expect anything to be perfect on Day 1 (whether it’s a new product launch, new job or new relationship). You must be flexible and plan on adapting to new circumstances and dynamics along the way. Where will you embrace a more agile, iterative approach?

Mojo Mondays Bootcamp is here to show you what’s possible in your life. I hope these notes and my weekly MOJO coaching tip at the end of the interview help you find and activate your mojo to move closer to what matters most to you.
